I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
-Psalm 34: 1-3

David had a roller coaster of a spiritual life. But he vowed
to bless God at all times. When he was riding high; he would send praises up to
the Lord. When he was lower than low; David would still recognize God for His
excellent greatness. Why? Because through it all David understood that God is
great and always worthy to be praised! David probably also knew that praising
God does something for the soul.
When you bless the Lord your outlook on life changes. Praising
God helps you remember that God loves you, what He has done for you, and all
that you can do through Him. At least it should. When you send praises up to
Christ your spirit is ignited by just focusing on who God is. If you are a
child of God praises should always be coming from your lips. You should be
exhorting others to do the same. Why? Because
when God is exalted everything else just seems to be OK…
