Humble yourselves,
therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt
you 1 Peter 5:6 esv
Every so often we all need to be reminded of humility. We
take a look at our lives and get down on ourselves. We’re not where we want to
be in certain areas. We feel like we could be more successful. But as far as
God is concerned humility is the path to success. God has to bring us low in
order to prepare us for spiritual success.
Jesus was extremely humble. He had every right to exert His authority
in every situation, but He didn’t. Sometimes He just let people wrong Him.
Sometimes Christ allowed people to think things about Him that weren’t true. At
times the Lord put others’ needs above His own. You need to learn how to do the
same. When you do God will
raise you up at the proper time... His time!
