When we think of discipline we usually think of punishment.
However discipline can also refer to order and instruction. Punishment can be a
part of discipline when we get off track. With that in mind discipline,
especially the Lord’s, is actually a good thing. Without any order our lives
would be a catastrophe.
Are you stupid? Then you should be clinging to God’s ways.
Every principle, every verse, every precept. Getting in line with God’s
discipline will involve some correction and punishment, but it is far worse
than the alternative. God’s correction is for your good. Don’t get upset by it.
Accept it. Understand its purpose. Thank God for keeping you on the
path to spiritual success.
