Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed
away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
In
Christ you are not your past. New life in Jesus is an awesome thing
the think about. We have to try and wrap our minds around this spiritual
rebirth. We may look and feel the same naturally, but we have been made new in
our spirits. We have joined Christ in dying to sin and thus have risen with Him
into this new life. We don’t just feel new. We don’t just act new. We are made
new. Children on God, we have been born again.
Old things are passed away. Your past is just that. The past. Nothing you’ve ever
done can define or enslave you. The most vile and wretched person can be new in
Christ. He has transformed murderers. He has saved adulterers. He will save and
transform anybody. Do you want to live this new life? Understand that you are
dead to sin. It has no power. Enjoy
and rest in the fact that you have been reborn spiritually in Christ.
