'And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:30-31 esv
Have you ever thought about why a person is a hater? When
someone sets themselves against us we easily can set ourselves back against
them. Without thinking we sometimes tend to hate them back. Sadly this probably
how the person has been treated their entire life. Most haters are bitter and angry
people because they grew up in bitter and angry situations. Life has hardened
their hearts and they are unable to love, show respect, or even be courteous.
They need to experience the love of Christ.
Do you love God enough to love your haters? God loves us
often times through our interactions with other people. That is how all of us
came to know Christ; someone loved us enough to share Jesus with us. Haters
need to know God’s love; to either lead them to Christ or to be restored.
Instead of wasting time talking about how much someone has wronged you stop and
pray that they would come to know God’s love. Maybe The Lord has placed you in
that family, job, church, or other relationship to display the love of Christ
to your haters. You will prevail in Christ. Your haters need to prevail too. In
Christ you can help them.
